Hi
and Welcome to Mysnapz, An unashamed showcase for my Photography
and art.
Dropped
into the
Museum of the history of science in Oxford last month, they were hosting
a Steampunk art exhibition, inspired by the exhibition I took some
pictures in the museum and the exhibition and created my own image
Nucleus, the exhibition
has ended now but you can still read and see video of the event at
the MHS
pages.
If
you
have enjoyed your visit here then please find a few moments to sign
my visitors
book. Please
visit again, I update every month so you will always find new images.

judges like them, a two week tour of India is the prize for a winning
portfolio of 4 images from 4 rounds.
8th January
2010 Start
the year with a few pictures taken around
my home town, I always find it hard to be inspired by the familiar
surroundings of Oxford, so I am always fascinated by how the tourist
view it. Over
there and Up there
are part of a bigger collection of images looking at tourist, while
Made
by us and Garden
art fit in with my ongoing retail project.
1st
December 2009 Still exploring old and derelict places for pictures
in my Explore
series.
This asylum was
built in 1906 it was closed in 1994 and has since stood empty, Of
all the places I have visited this must rate at one of the creepiest
the wind and rain did not help the situation, with water dripping
on old carpets in empty rooms, thudding out a slow beat , the hanging
remains of false ceilings chiming in the wind and the occasional
slamming door, It certainly kept me on edge, I could only imagine
what the asylum must have been like and wonder if a few of the inmates
where still there enjoying my discomfort.
18th
November 2009 I am a bit late with my update this month as
promised I have a few more Images from my Explore
series, these are from a old derelict house, as you will see it has
seen better days I am a little late in finding it. I loved the rooms
with their 70s wallpaper and the fireplace boarded up and forgotten
becoming a deathtrap for the unsuspecting birds that fell inside and
the out house that housed a wonderful old generator soon to become
consumed by its surroundings.
4th October
2009 For
a few months I have been exploring old derelict buildings, in the
spirit of others that like this style of photography, taking only
photographs and leaving only footprints.
These images
are a combination of HDR and other Photo shop techniques to lift
the colours and textures found in these buildings. I have started
an Explore
gallery with pictures from a wonderful building and local landmark
I am told will soon be demolished. I hope you will return in the
coming months as I post other images from this and other locations.
13th september
2009 Just
back from a few days in Cornwall, after seeing the images in the local
galleries I had to try taking some seascape pictures. spent a very
enjoyable few hours watching the tide come crashing in on the rocks
at Traberwith Strand,
if you like them you can get prints in my PhotoBox shop.
8th August
2009 This
month I have three Panoramic's for you. These are made up of 24 images,
two rows taken
through 360'. I use a number of different software packages to help
me achieve them, Autopano to search for common points between the
images, Hugin to distort and make the image stitch together and finally
Enblend to match the exposure shifts between the images, I have also
found by using PS Photomerge you get very good results but without
the control of other software. Town
hall, Workshop,
Potting
Shed.

2009
I while ago I took over 500 Smoke
pictures in a couple of sessions, this was done in a very still room,
the lighting was from a single flash unit which created a slight turbulence
in the room forming the shapes and forms in the smoke, finally I have
taken the time to select 20 to make a panel of images, if you like
the individual images or the complete panel they are available from
my shop.
9th June
2009 For
a long time I have wanted to visit the H
R Giger Museum in Switzerland so this month I have set
a new gallery with a few images from my trip. It was a great experience
to see his art first hand, and adds another dimension to images I
have only seen online or in books, if you're a fan then it is well
worth the visit.
